Area of operation
Our Construction, Property & Infrastructure consultancy group, containing an experienced team of four consultants, has a comprehensive grasp of the property sector. We combine our knowledge of the market and our expertise to form a solid basis for our cooperation with project developers, architects, building companies, consultancies, property investors and managers and housing corporations. Besides our role as a critically involved partner for Executive Boards when designing the organisational structure, we also arrange the correct filling of executive and management positions and specific positions for senior professionals.
New blood
One noteworthy aspect in this sector is that in more and more situations, certainly when it involves positions on the highest level, no explicit knowledge of the specific sector is required. Partner Frank ten Doeschate: "That's happening, for example, in corporations in which scale increases and mergers, a differentiated supply and professionalisation have a role to play. More and more often, they are looking for ‘new blood'. Which is logical, but it's also somewhat risky. For example, we regularly come into contact with highly experienced senior managers who want to work for corporations so that they can do ‘something good'. It's our task to map out the reality."
Solid foundation
In recruitment & selection processes, we look at the ‘job environment' and we make sure we talk to everybody involved, including members of the Works Council and the Supervisory Board. The environment is already there - we can't change that. The same applies to the candidate: knowledge and experience form the basis. We primarily look at motivation and personality, partly based on an Assessment. Both evaluations provide a strong foundation and make clear what is really necessary. And talking about new blood, this can sometimes result in a creative solution. Our intensive guidance of the selection process helps to bring it to a successful conclusion and ensures that everybody's contribution is utilised to the optimum.
Reorganising
Frank ten Doesschate, Partner: "Our research at the client's can occasionally produce surprising recommendations. Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where we recommend an interim solution. Because the situation in the organisation first needs to be clarified. Reorganisation is required. That in turn has a positive effect on the job profile, because as a rule the interim phase broadens people's minds. In other cases, we come up with very original solutions. For example, a large firm of architects was looking for a director to increase commerce. In the end, the perfect candidate turned out to be an ex-director from the music world. Sensitive and commercial. An architect is also a kind of first violinist, after all."
