Really know everyone

Things could hardly get any more dynamic than the present market situation. That is why it is important that we have a strong network of clients and candidates. That we work in partnership with both candidates and clients. Besides keeping on top of the trends in the market, now more than ever we need to operate very closely to the market (both in terms of candidates and clients). Kasper Pruijsen, consultant: "When we're dealing with our candidates, our premise is to know and to have spoken to everyone in the sector. We are up to date on people's present situation and have an insight into their qualities and competences. This is possible in this segment because this is a relatively small scene. Our team has a strong track record - in part thanks to Campus, which we have been running for no less than 20 years now. In addition, we use other sources to establish contact."

Two-way street

What is remarkable about the Banking sector is that in the well-known Ebbinge advertisements, you don't come across vacancies relating to this discipline very often. Within this sector, we often work with Executive Search, as we have been following and have known the best candidates for a very long time. Kasper Pruijsen: "These candidates are special: smart, intelligent, both in terms of figures and commercial acumen. They are the kind of candidates who are less attracted by advertisements - they want to be asked. We know most of these candidates from a long way back, or get in touch with them directly. In most cases, these candidates know that we can really think along with them objectively about possible career moves, both now and in the future. They consequently don't mind talking with us about their career, even when they aren't directly looking for a new job. We want to find out what really energises them at present and what they would consider important in a future position. They value our objective advice, and indeed pro-actively contact us when they feel the need. It's a community of top-notch professionals, with the same ambition, background and ideals. This is important, because keeping candidates involved is a two-way street. The same basically applies for our network of clients. This is a varied and dynamic group - an essential condition for advising candidates and clients on an objective basis."

Long-term relationship

Our client network is characterised by its numerous long-term relationships. We are regularly invited to exchange views and ‘spar' about a client's HR policy and what is going on in the labour market or the sector. Kasper Pruijsen: "We take a look at the composition of the existing team, for instance, and advise how you could maintain diversity in such a team. Our clients appreciate this: we don't automatically carry out their request, but give incisive, critical advice. Of course, we have the advantage of having played the game at the top level for a very long time and of knowing the best people. As a result, we can make objective decisions for the client. In the case of some of these clients, we also introduce them to candidates on a regular basis, without being asked to do so. Only if we have a certain feeling that this candidate can offer added value, of course."

Keep investing

According to Kasper Pruijsen, the market's present dynamism makes it interesting to take an active approach to your network: "Right now, you can see the focus shifting to themes like infrastructure and (renewable) energy. These are the investors and parties we are talking to. We are once again creating an interesting proposition for clients and candidates alike. Objective advice, a great network of candidates, and the candidates in turn are interested in the expansion of their options. We will keep investing in this."
